Our client is a progressive first opinion practice with excellent facilities including CT scanner, and all the usual toys including dental x-ray. They are in the process of accepting local referrals in feline internal medicine, CT scanning, and TPLOs. They hold monthly Vet meetings and 3 monthly full practice communication afternoons, where they actively encourage feedback, case discussions, and good communication.
There are 6 practices situated on the Norfolk/Suffolk border and surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Norfolk Broads National Park with stunning coastline within half an hour⣙s drive. There are good transport links to London and Norwich has a host of sporting and social events to enjoy in your time off.
As well as an experienced team of Vets they are supported by a team of excellent RVN⣙s. They are a training practice currently supporting Student Registered Veterinary Nurses and one of the receptionists is training to become an Animal Nursing Assistant. The additional Support Team consists of exceptional Receptionists, Admin, and Maintenance/Cleaning Staff along with the Practice Director who is continually working alongside the Clinical Directors to improve the practice. More importantly than this they have the team of staff pets that accompany their owners to work as they have a well utilised bring your dog to work scheme with staff-specific kennelling in the pipeline at one of the sites.
They team are now looking for a consult only Small Animal Vet. The main duties of your role would include:
- Routine Consultations
- Triage patients and hand over to emergency team
- Dispense repeat prescriptions and written prescriptions
This is a full-time position offering 36 hours a week over 4 days and a share in the Saturday rota 1:6 with a full day given back for this the following week. The client is flexible and is therefore open to welcoming applications from those wanting part-time hours or anything in between. The role will be working across their smaller branch surgeries many of which are in village locations with a great client base, if however, you would prefer to work solely in just one of these branches this could be accommodated. The salary for this role is £55,000.

Consultants also take additional responsibility for growing our independent practice client base.
Experience in recruitment is not essential, none of the existing team (including the owners) came from a recruitment background. What is essential is experience in a sales/customer service background and the ability to maintain relationships. Consultants will be responsible for screening CV's, maintaining our CRM, processing applications, following up with applications ore and post interviews.
Currently we focus on the permanent market and that is where new consultants will be focusing their efforts and time. In time, we may decide to open up to the temp market
We are based in an old cotton mill in HX4 Greetland/Barkisland. We have ample space in the private car parks or on the roadside close to the building if the mill is particularly busy. With regards to public transport the 343/344 from Huddersfield and Halifax pass the office and we a 10 minutes walk from West Vale with multiple buses. As we cover the UK, there is generally no need for client or candidate visits however, we do visit the 7 vet schools of the UK annually to cover their careers fairs. These events, depending on location can require an overnight stay. Full travel expenses are provided.
Our office hours are currently 8.30 - 5.00 Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch. Consultants are provided with a mobile phone for the occasional evening call.

The nursing team is a mixture of both experienced RVN's, newly qualified and SVN's.
They have a happy, forward-thinking team of 7 vets nurses and support staff as well as state-of-the-art facilities. The branch has 11 nurses as well as student nurses and kennel assistants. As a practice, the team is very client-focused and strive to constantly excel in customer service. The nurses are used to their full capacity during the working day. Nurses are encouraged to specialise in their chosen area with a generous CPD allowance. The nurses also run a range of clinics and will take on duties including lab work varied kennel and theatre requirements.
The ideal candidate would be confident and used to delivering a high standard of clinical work and patient care. This is a great opportunity for a nurse to develop within a supportive and close-knit team. This is a full time position, working 5 days (8am-4am or 11-7.30pm) plus weekends on a rota basis (no less than 1 in 8 full weekends), they would consider part time hours for the right candidate.
The practice is a training practice and always encourage personal development. The position would suit both an experienced RVN and a newly qualified nurse. You will need a Diploma or Degree in Veterinary nursing at a minimum.
