As clinical director, you will have overarching responsibility for the small animal business; you will work alongside the two farm clinical directors to lead the whole group, and be fundamental in setting strategy and maintaining excellent clinical standards across the sites.

As part of this group you will be enrolled into their Graduate Development Programme, which lasts approximately 2 years. After the cohort collectively meets in September, the programme offers a blended learning approach of training days, in-house mentoring, CPD, and clinical practice, creating a varied platform for you to grow and develop as a Veterinary Surgeon. You will be offered both supportive 1-to-1 and group mentoring sessions, for engagement and interaction, as you develop an invaluable skillset. From surgical/medical experience to enjoying teamwork, providing refined customer service, and gaining business knowledge to support the security of great patient care.
The group was set up in the 1960s and has grown to what is now 4 large branch surgeries and a 24-hour hospital, which provides care for pets across Northamptonshire and South Leicestershire.
This is a team that puts its people and pets at the heart of everything they do – their friendly and highly qualified team will support you to develop your skills in a thriving and collaborative environment.
You will be predominately working at the Hospital which is a brand-new, state-of-the-art, 24-hour facility. Relocated due to outgrowing its previous location, the new premises have been purpose designed by and for Vets. There are all the facilities you would expect from a modern hospital including CT, digital X-ray machine, endoscopy, laparoscopy kit, sterile theatre, piped gas, ultrasound, and excellent welfare facilities for the team.
The hospital sites sits in the heart of an historic market town in central England. As well as its historic heritage, this is a diverse and vibrant town centre with excellent sporting facilities. Yet you are still less than an hour by train to London or Birmingham. The surreounding area has an abundance of country parks and spectacular countryside to explore on the doorstep to allow you to maintain fantastic mental wellbeing.
You can expect a starting salary of 32k plus 6.6 weeks paid holiday, including Bank Holidays.

The main duties for this role will include ambulatory equine general practice for example colics, lameness, injuries, medicine, and geriatrics. The role will also include being responsible for your own first opinion cases but there will be support available. There will be travel involved but the locations are fairly local.
The rota involves working 4.5 days per week but this can be flexible. The shifts usually range from 9:00am-6:00pm over 4 days then 9:00am-1:15pm for 1 day a week. The rota does involve out of hours and weekends. The overnight duty is for emergencies only and that will be 1 night per week. The weekend duty is currently 1 in 4 for emergencies only or it could be 3 in 8 if preferred with time off in the week.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and professional qualified Equine Veterinary Surgeon who is friendly and delivers the best care to all clients. The team would prefer an experienced Vet, but they are able to support a new graduate. Applicants must have a Full Driver’s License.

The team are seeking an experienced Equine Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys the freedom of ambulatory work but also appreciates the time to use and develop their skills in a clinic environment with operating and inpatient facilities. You will be someone who wants to be their clinical best in a practice that values individual equine care and excellent client care. Good communication skills are a must as is experience of working independently in first opinion ambulatory practice, managing both routine and emergency cases. An interest in internal medicine is desirable but not essential.
Most of the ambulatory work is within a thirty-minute drive of the practice to minimise travel time. The majority of horses the teams see are leisure/competition horses with an increasing geriatric population (and a few donkeys!) all of whose owners appreciate a practice happy to discuss every treatment option.
The Equine Vet team is supported by 3 experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses and a Clinical Groom plus an Equine Coordinator and a Practice Manager.
The standard working week is 5 days plus out of hours. There will be 1:4 nights and weekends with time off in lieu. You will be on call from home, so you do not have to stay on-site and phone calls are taken by a receptionist.
The normal working hours are from 8:30am to 6:00pm daily, depending on workload, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.
The Salary for this role is up to 50,000 plus relocation allowance.

They visit schools and take part in local shows and careers fairs, whilst also working with and fundraising for local charities. Two members of the team have worked for Mission Rabies in Africa and India.
Nationally, this team have also provided veterinary services at the 2012 London Olympics plus supervision on film sets for many films and commercials. One of their Equine Vets works at the Horse of the Year Show and they provide duty Vet cover for local equine shows and point-to-point events.
